Halloween isn’t complete without pumpkins and scarecrows haunting front porches and lawns. With Halloween only a month away, it’s time to find the best pumpkin and scarecrow costumes, crafts, recipes, and more to begin the celebration of this spooky fall holiday.
Best Pumpkin Costume
Festive pumpkin costumes are cute for kids and adults alike. The award for best pumpkin costume goes to this adorable baby costume, which is great for baby’s first Halloween. Make it memorable with Halloween baby costumes.
Best Pumpkin Carving Idea
It was hard to pick the best carved pumpkin. There are so many creative stencils out there to use and a ton of great horror studios that have created likenesses of celebrities and famous cartoon characters. My favorite ended up being the Star Wars Jack-o-Lantern. That’s no moon!
Best Pumpkin Recipe
I love pumpkins and I love easy recipes, which makes this my favorite pumpkin recipe. Roll orange rice krispies into balls and adorn with tootsie rolls, green icing for the leaves, and black icing for the eyes. Voila! A simple recipe that will have kids coming back for more.
Best Scarecrow Costume
The Scarecrow from Wizard of Oz is a classic scarecrow costume with an instantly recognizable design. Wizard of Oz costumes are great for groups and couples with girls dressing up as Dorothy and men dressing up in a scarecrow costume. A group of women can also dress as sexy versions of their favorite characters, including Glinda the Good Witch, the Cowardly Lion, the Tin Man, and of course, the Scarecrow.
Best Scarecrow Craft
I love Halloween lights, and this craft includes mini lights and a cute scarecrow. To create, place Christmas lights in a glass bottle or box. Paint the scarecrow’s face on the glass and surround with a burlap hat and straw hair. Add leaves for a touch of fall. Do this in an empty wine glass for an upcycled decor item.
Best Scarecrow Outdoor Decoration
Nothing can strike fear into trick-or-treaters like a scary scarecrow decoration. My favorite scarecrows are those that involve pumpkins for heads and long, spindly arms. You never know when they might reach out and grab you! Tattered black clothes and cheese cloth is great for making the scarecrow extra spooky.
