Halloween parties are always fun, but the memorable ones take a little planning. With the holiday fast approaching, now is the time to start planning that spooktacular event. For best results, it is good to work out a few things before that will help guide you through the process. The five W’s are a good way to proceed.
Who: Knowing who to invite is a great start. If it is a family or children’s event then different decorations and refreshments would be in order than if it were an adults only affair. Once that is determined, invitations are good if it is for a controlled number. They can be crafted as a family effort to build the suspense prior to the event or sent out on social media to friends only.
Where: Choosing a location, even if just between indoors and outdoors, will impact other decisions. Big venues or a party at home impacts the selection of decorations, including how much and what type. Table cloth materials will differ depending on indoors or out. Lights, candles and other illumination needs are required for outdoor events. Most indoor parties have lighting covered though it can always be improved with Halloween lights.
When: Timing can be everything. The when will also influence the types of food and drinks. Scary burgers and devil dogs are great at a barbecue, which are more popular during the day. The time of the event will also determine the extent of what is offered. Parties that occur at meal times may require more food as opposed to night events that need only snacks.
What: This one will tighten up your Halloween party plans. Will it be themed? If so, what theme? Once you pick out a theme your ideas and needs become focused. Decoration and Halloween costumes selections can come from this choice. If you have come across some type of cake or drink or Halloween food that inspires the theme, choose an appropriate costume. If, on the other hand, you are motivated by a particular genre or costume style, food and drink ideas associated with them can easily be found online. Look below for links to some creative ideas.
