Critics agree that Shark Night 3D has been, overall, a bust in theaters. What was meant to be a scary movie about sharks attacking unsuspecting campers has become more of a joke in the movie industry. Think Snakes on a Plane, but without snakes and Samuel L. Jackson, and you get Shark Night 3D.
While some reviewers of the movie state that the rubber sharks are just too fake looking or that the movie was rated at PG-13 and thus kept it from some of the gore it could have had if it were rated R, many just believe that the dialogue and character interactions were just humorous instead of serious. While this isn’t great news for the company who paid for Shark Night 3D to be filmed and put into theaters, it’s good news for any costumer looking for a funny Halloween costume.
There’s at least one thing everyone who saw Shark Night can agree on: Watching sharks attack people is at least entertaining. Why not take that entertainment value and put it into a great costume?
The Shark Attack costume is comfortable and fun to wear. It gets laughs at every party with its shark appeal. If you want to make it a bit more gory than even Shark Night 3D, use some fake blood around the bite marks to look as if you really are being eaten by a shark.
Other Funny Media Costumes
Shark Night 3D isn’t the only media sensation to inspire a wave of funny costumes. Though the Austin Powers series of movies wrapped years ago, the costumes are still popular as the blue velvet clad spy is still an iconic character at any party. Food costumes, particularly banana costumes, are a popular trend with songs like “Peanut Butter Jelly Time.”
Funny Costumes Liven the Party
Funny costumes in general make great choices for Halloween as they are remembered long after the actual event. Just make sure that your funny costume isn’t offensive if you’re attending a part with children; Choose something age appropriate for whatever party you’re attending on the big night and have a whole lot of laughs!
