Pirate costumes are popular with people of all ages. Pirates represent the united opposition to the restrictions enforced by government, and pretending to be a pirate allows you to feel a sense of freedom and power. Pirates were feared, yet had their own camaraderie with each other. The life of a pirate is often viewed as one of pranks, life on the open sea, and the sharing of pirate booty. Throw in an “Arrgh” and a toy sword, and piracy appears to be nothing more than a vacation from reality!
Celebrating the legend of pirates is the San Francisco Bay area attraction, Pirates of Emerson Haunted House Adventure. Here you can charter a pirate ship, confront immortal pirates, and get the life scared out of you. Dress in pirate costumes for added fun – it is allowed!
Pirate festivals can be found throughout the summer, and are occasionally intertwined with Renaissance festivals. Pirates were terrorizing the seas and shores during the Renaissance age, and so they still play a major role in historical reenactments of that period.
Pirate costumes are available for little toddlers, kids, and adults. Dress babies as the Puny Pirate, or hit the parties as the Secret Wishes Pirate Siren. Transform yourself this year in a pirate costume, and take charge of the seas as captain!
