On October 2nd, Rapunzel will be welcomed into the Disney Princess royal court. Rapunzel will be the 10th official Disney princess and will be crowned in a procession known as Rapunzel’s Royal Celebration held in London’s Kensington Palace.
While the event is invitation only, tickets are free to watch the parade as Disney princesses arrive to Kensington Palace by horse drawn carriage. Rapunzel will join the ranks of other princesses such as Ariel, Aurora, Cinderella, Belle, Jasmine, Mulan, Pocahontas, Snow White, and Tiana, all of whom plan to attend her coronation.
Already planned for Rapunzel is a sequel to the ever popular movie Tangled called Tangled Ever After, a short that will appear on Disney channel in Spring 2012. In it, Rapunzel will marry her long time boyfriend Flynn Rider in traditional Disney “ever after” style.
The short, directed by the same staff that directed the original movie, will have all major characters returning and will continue the romance of Rapunzel and Flynn.
Rapunzel in Theme Parks
Shortly after Tangled became a box office smash hit, Rapunzel and Flynn appeared in Disneyland and Disney World parks, even taking over a section of the park that previously belonged to Belle. The parks will also update their parade to include the lantern festival pictured in the movie.
With the everlasting popularity of Disney and the new hype of Tangled, princesses are obviously a popular theme. A princess costume, particularly for young girls, is a year round favorite for play time and Halloween.
Adults can play along too with sexy Disney princess costumes. With shorter skirts and body hugging materials, Disney princess costumes are perfect for everyone.
