A cool Halloween site I just heard of that’s quite popular, so I’m surprised I haven’t seen it yet, is called KillerPumpkins.com. As a Halloween fanatic myself, I’m happy to share it with all the other Halloween fans out there. The creator and illustrator of this creative site is John Pelico, who has worked with advertising, design and illustration for many years and for big names such as Dick Clark Productions, the Academy Awards, HBO, CBS and ABC. He’s combined his skill with design and illustration with his passion for Halloween to create an impressive style that brings out the fun, tradition and art of Halloween. He’s even referred to as the “Disney of Halloween”.
This site brings back art and fun back to Halloween. This day is a great reason to celebrate and brings friends and family together, so why not? John Pelico’s artistic talent and love for Halloween have created a signature style that truly expresses the richness of the colors of Halloween and fall. While the other seasons get a lot of attention, fall is a great time of year too, full of change and beautiful autumn colors. Killer Pumpkins takes this, along with the Halloween contrast of dark and glowing colors to the art of pumpkin carving. What’s great about a pumpkin is it’s a blank canvas for one to express themselves. You can make faces of all kinds, or just use it as a blank sheet for any drawing or carving you can think of.
Killer Pumpkin’s signature style has become very popular with Halloween enthusiasts, and they in turn opened an online store featuring Killer Pumpkin art for sale. They also sell greeting cards and t-shirts to celebrate the fun of Halloween with. You can also request to have a huge range of custom branded items with Killer Pumpkin’s distinctive artwork. This means you can get party decorations, trick-or-treat bags, signs, lights and even cellphone backgrounds with Killer Pumpkin art. There even is a section for fan art, paying tribute to their love of Killer Pumpkin’s style.
Killer Pumpkin art really stands out with its rich, deep colors and shades. The colors seem to blend seamlessly between dark and light, with dark colors, to neon and glowing shades. One cool painting featured here is of Stewie, from the Family Guy series, with is featured in a Family Guy art exhibit. I’ve included some prints I like in this post, but be sure to check out their website and get into the fun of Halloween!
