Halloween parades in Nevada seem as appropriate as the parades in New Orleans or Disney properties. It is an endless party for visitors, and why should the employees be the only ones in costume? Walking through the casinos almost has a year round Halloween feel – there are Roman soldiers and toga clad waitresses and little Paris and Venice are there with all the Circus performers. It is also interesting that Nevada became a state on October 31.
Nevada Cities Celebrate Halloween Early
Given Nevada Day – the day the area became a state – is the same as Halloween, it is not too surprising that in places like Carson City, Douglas County, Lyon County, and Storey County celebrated Halloween on the 30th prior to 2000. Costumes must have gotten a lot of use back then, though there is a distinct Western feel to the Nevada Day celebrations. Halloween offered a change of costume and perhaps was easier in this state where costumes become part of so many jobs. For the people who love to leave their inhibitions behind on Halloween, Nevada offers a lot of play opportunities.
Seems the Fetishists Love Halloween in Nevada
Both Las Vegas and Reno host Fetish Balls over the Halloween period – guess most Halloween Festishists believe the “What Happens” covers the entire state. The beauty of Halloween is that any costume can be worn and accepted, thus the bondage and s&m gear gets a lot of use.
