Tips To Create A Haunted House For Halloween

Have you ever been to one of those haunted houses in your neighborhood during Halloween? I'll bet you have and, if you're like the rest of us, you've been thinking about attempting to make one for yourself. You can do this on a budget, or you can spend like the Government and blow that budget overboard. Regardless on how you do it, we'll give you a few easy tips to do it on the cheap.

Darkness easily scares most people, so you know to at least turn the lights down low to get the most impact. Those jeans filled with a pillow in the chair look like severed legs as opposed to just an overstuffed pair of jeans. Turn the lights down low and look around for routine items that take on a totally different look in the dark. You can shut off most of the lights in your house while changing a few bulbs with red ones to give that frighteningly ghostly effect.

Search for free spooky haunted house sounds and put it in the yard for all the newcomers. Last year I played a scary movie on the television in another room. Those screams and odd sounds coming from a room other than the party are not only entertaining, they make people wonder what's really going on in the other room

I also recommend using old glass jars and filling them with things that look dead or scary such as bugs. Eyeballs from the $1 store with a label that says something like "the lab", cheap fingers from the Halloween section of your favorite craft store, jello in the right color that looks like some body part that belongs on the body.

You can use friends, family and neighbors to take part and act as a scary monster. Typical scares include clowns, famous characters from horror movies, and hospital patients who are out of control. Arm a few of them with fake weapons, make their faces up to be particularly gross or scary, and clothe them in darker fabrics so they are hard to see.

There really is no limit on what you can do on a pretty tight budget to make your house Halloween haunted ready. Just remember to keep the lights low and the scary sounds coming from back rooms. As long as you have friends around, you'll have a great time.

10 Best Halloween Costumes for 2010

It's finally here - Halloween costume season! While I get to try costumes on all year, learning which costumes feel the softest, include the most accessories, or have the most realistic looking faux suede, most people only think about costumes in October, and only get a single opportunity to dress up and show off. I have personally signed up for Halloween kickball, to attend a costume birthday party, and to hit up the night clubs in the hopes of winning a cash prize for the best costume. I have a great shot - the world of costumes is at my fingertips, and I know what the selection is. I want to attend as many costume events as possible, and each in one of my favorite costumes. I think everyone else should do the same - it's an amazing time that gets to be relived repeatedly.

While no ghost video has ever been too great, take a quick look at this and let me know what you think. I personally cannot tell since the kids these days have the best video cameras and editing skills, so you be the judge!
